Setting up Win XP version of WPE Pro Packet Editor: [/font:efdb24116f]- Download Corsica productions freeware packet filtering/editing software WPE Pro: WPE Pro Alpha
- Install. The installer doesn't install program into windows beyond putting a menu entry in start menu and makes a shortcut on your desktop.
Running WPE Pro with BZ2 to stop the intentional AV hack: [/font:efdb24116f]- Start WPE up.
- Start BattleZone2 up.
- Alt Tab to WPE and double click "select game". Choose bzone.exe out of the list. (even if you are running FE)
- Now double click Filter and load your BZ2 filter "bz2_av_filter_final.flt".
- Check the box on the needed filter, then press the Enable button, which will light up red. If it is not activated, the protection is not on.
- Alt Tab back to BZ2 and enjoy an intentional AV free game.
- Note: You must close and restart WPE each time you restart BZ2 for the protection to remain working.
.
This software is NOT for Win98 use. It will not be stable on a 98 OS.

This filter is essentially obsolete now with a better method now known. It is easy for the host to determine who AVs him by a simple command and then ban him.
1. When you get AVed as server, do not close the error window. Read it to make sure it is a chat AV. Keep the error window open after this.
2. Use the command prompt of windows to type netstat -a. The AVer's IP will now be apparent to you, as long as you didn't close the BZ error window yet.
3. Now you simply enter that IP into your firewalls ban list to be free of the pest forever (well until his IP changes anyways).
The Chat Attack AV looks like this:
[ E X C E P T I O N ]
Patch 1.2 Jun 28 2000 10:54:02
Type: ACCESS VIOLATION
Info: READING from 5D73255Bh
CallStack:
00647BFD +0469 BZONE.EXE LIBC output.obj
006404FC +002D BZONE.EXE LIBC vsprintf.obj
006366AD +001D BZONE.EXE utilsys console.obj public: static void Console::Display(unsigned long,char const *,...)
00636747 +0037 BZONE.EXE utilsys console.obj public: static void Console::Message(char const *,...)
00516C19 +0229 BZONE.EXE EXE ChatLine.obj void __fastcall NetManager::ChatManager::PrintSystemMessage(char const *,struct Color)
