firefox 3.0 stinks , I hate it .

seems like they just added a load of useless features that make browsing more annoying especially the stuff they've done with the nav bar. It used to just save the url's I typed in the dropdown thingy which was useful for quickly clicking on commonly used sites without having to wade through all my bookmarks , now it saves every bloody page I visit and for some reason it seems to have a bunch of random bookmarked pages in there too, it's cluttered and messy with a load of unneeded info.

this update seems utterly pointless and annoying to me.

is there anyway I can go back to firefox 2.x ? if not I may go back to using IE....... that's how drastic it is.

I've been pondering that little upgrade box that pops up for about a week now. I'm always suspicious of upgrades and often regret them.

Too bad too, because Firefox 2.0 is kind of a memory hog and I was looking forward to a leaner browser per their claims.

Back up your bookmarks beforehand. Mine got messed up, probably due to them being in a custom folder.

Works great though. If you have a lot of extensions and plugins, it loads a little slow due to it checking for updates for them, but I can turn that off.

I really like the thing...though I have a niche use for it....I'm developing a thing that is like a TIVO for movie theaters, and I am constantly hitting urls similar to

http://louie:8080/ingest?Id=urn:uuid:62c2e72f-1006-9546-88b7-55a246e6e18c&Host=192.168.1.152&Port=8080

...and all I have to do is start typing ingest and it gets me what I need.
